Lori is the owner and lead therapist at A Compassionate Space Psychotherapy. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Lori is also a recognized EMDRIA Certified Therapist, committed to maintaining high standards in EMDR therapy through consultation, clinical practice, and ongoing education. Her dedication to her field and the clients she serves is grounded in providing mindful, compassionate, and ethical treatment and support.
Lori’s trauma-informed psychotherapy approach is grounded in mindful acceptance therapy. She integrates humanistic, existential, feminist, and contemplative psychotherapies, collaborating with clients to incorporate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and compassion-focused therapy into her treatment plans.
Lori strives to create a positive and compassionate space where clients feel safe in exploring their vulnerabilities. She fosters an atmosphere of non-judgmental, unconditional positive regard, encouraging clients to reconnect with their authentic selves, move past judgment and fear, and take courageous steps towards a rich and meaningful life.
